For La clé Duchamp, Frac Nouvelle-Aquitaine MÉCA invited artist Alice Nuville-Legendre to interpret the work of Joachim Mogarra.
For her, this is an opportunity to explore the question of the living, not only as a subject of representation, but as an evolving material, constantly undergoing transformation.
Fresh flowers wither, seeds remain dormant, and dried roots evoke both the memory of living matter and its vital grounding.
The root vase questions the very notion of what it means to be alive: not as a fixed form, but as a transitional state, in constant evolution. The work is conceived to evolve slowly, with minimal human intervention, allowing time and natural processes : drying, fading and crumbling, to gradually reshape its presence.

“Pour La clé Duchamp, le Frac Nouvelle-Aquitaine Méca a invité l’artiste Alice Nuville-Legendre a interpréter l’oeuvre de Joachim Mogarra. Il s’agit pour elle d’explorer la question du vivant, non seulement en tant que sujet de représentation, mais en tant que matière évolutive, en constante transformation. Les fleurs fraîches dépérissent, les graines restent en latence, les racines desséchées évoquent à la fois la mémoire du vivant et son ancrage vital.
Le vase à racines interroge la notion même de vivant : non pas comme une forme figée, mais comme un état transitoire, en constante évolution. L’œuvre est conçue pour évoluer lentement, sans trop d’intervention humaine, laissant le temps et les processus naturels (dessèchement, décoloration, effritement) redessiner peu à peu sa présence.”
