My artistic practice grew out of a childhood shaped by the school system.
Within that system, which forced my body into stillness and gradually suffocated my enthusiasm, I felt torn away from the botanical world I loved exploring so much.
Today, I question societal conditioning and its impact on our sensitivity and relationship with plant life.
My perceptions of my own vulnerability allow me, in a way that is at once absurd and poetic, to open up a reflection on resilience and adaptability in the face of systemic violence.
Giving a phytomorphic dimension to materials drawn from the school system is, for me, an act of resistance: an attempt to divert them from their original functions and materiality, to make them fragile, almost alive. I try to think with plants, to step into their rhythms and their metabolisms, and to use their strategies to infiltrate the alienating structures of our society.
It is about finding, within the world’s interstices, an openness to a sensitive connection with plant life. Obstinately restoring a space for the living architecture of plants.
Ma démarche artistique est née de l’expérience d’une enfance marquée par le système scolaire. Ce système contraignait mon corps à l’immobilité et étouffait peu à peu mon enthousiasme, je me sentais arrachée à l’univers botanique que j’aimais tant explorer.
Aujourd’hui, j’interroge, de façon incisive, les conditionnements sociétaux et leurs conséquences sur notre relation au monde végétal. Les perceptions de ma vulnérabilité me permettent, d’une manière à la fois absurde et poétique, d’ouvrir une réflexion sur la résilience et l’adaptabilité face aux violences systémiques.
Conférer aux matériaux issus du système scolaire une dimension phytomorphe est pour moi un acte de résistance, une tentative de détourner leurs fonctions et matérialités premières pour les rendre fragiles, presque vivants. Je tente de penser avec les plantes, d’entrer dans leurs rythmes, leurs métabolismes et d’utiliser leurs stratégies pour infiltrer les structures aliénantes de notre société.
Il s’agit alors de trouver, dans les interstices du monde, une disponibilité pour un rapport sensible au végétal.
